Program Objectives:
Students with a B. S. degree will acquire fundamental theory, basic knowledge and skills of modern biology and biotechnogy, have the primary training of basic and scientific development researches, have good scientific and creative spirits and practical ability, and fit in with the needs of Chinese economy and social development.
Features:
Program of Biotechnology will offer the integrated knowledge of science and technology for students, who will benefit from the remarkable engineering disciplines of Jiangsu University; the working abilities including solid academic basis, highly flexible adaptation to new changes and profound potentials; and training opportunities in cooperation with related research institutes and centers to improve the students’ practical and creative abilities and obtain solid experimental skills.

Inorganic chemistry; Organic chemistry; Botany; Zoology; Biochemistry; Microbiology; Genetics; Molecular Biology; Cell Biology; Immunology; Tissue Culture; Biochemical Separation Technology; Genetic Engineering; Cell Engineering; Enzyme Engineering; Fermentation Engineering.
Postgraduate opportunities:
This program is vested in the First-level Discipline Master Degree Program in Biology and the First-level Discipline Doctoral Degree Program in Food Science and Engineering. Now our program has a faculty of more than 20 Master supervisors, and above 240 graduate students including Ph.D. and Master Candidates.
Career Opportunities:
This program has attained the employment rates of more than 97% in the past three years, and about 30% of our students have been accepted as Master candidates to pursue their studies in related fields at colleges and universities and research institutes. Some work as researchers or teachers in the above institutions. They also have opportunities to work in the industrial, agricultural, pharmaceutical, environmental, medical or food companies and public institutions at positions of research and development, production and management, or administrative management.
