Program Objectives:
Students with a B.E. degree in Bio-engineering will have fundamental theory, basic knowledge and skills of modern biology and technological process and engineering design related to bio-engineering so that they can carry on the work of design, production, management, new technology research and new product development.
Features:
Students will lay a good foundation in basics and gain a wide range of knowledge. They will acquire academic abilities, a vision of technological engineering and practical skills of all kinds so that they can work at positions of engineering design, technological development, and production management in the fields of biological engineering.
Courses:
Inorganic Chemistry; Biochemistry; Microbiology; Principles of Chemical Industries; Biochemical Engineering; Biological Engineering Equipment; Biochemical Plant Design; Bioseparation Engineering; Enzyme Engineering; Fermentation Engineering; Principles of Metabolic Fermentation.
Postgraduate opportunities:
The program is invested in the First-level Discipline Doctoral Degree Program in Food Science and Engineering of the School. It has five Doctoral programs and Master programs of Food Science, Agricultural Products Processing & Storage, Aquatic Products Processing & Storage, Food Oils and Vegetable Protein Engineering, and Food Nutrition & Safety. The Post-doctoral positions of Food Science are also provided. Now our program has a faculty team of 13 Ph.D. supervisors and 24 Master supervisors, and more than 200 graduate students including Ph.D. and Master Candidates.
Career Opportunities:
Our graduates are employed to work at position of production and technology management and product development in such fields as biological engineering, food engineering, biomedicine, biochemistry, environmental protection. They can also work or pursue studies at positions of teaching, scientific research, engineering design and quality control for research institutes, design institutes, college and universities related to biological engineering.
