Introduction: Dr. Esra Capanoglu is a Professor of the Department of Food Engineering, Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. There are more than 200 papers have been published and accepted in international SCI journals such as Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, Current Research in Food Science, Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Food & Function, etc. 11 of them have been selected as ESI highly cited papers (this month), with over 10000 citations and h-index of 532. In 2019 and 2022, they were selected as web of science group researchers by Clarivate Analytics. In 2020, they were included in the top 2% of scientists in major sub disciplines (Ioannidis JPA, Boyack KW, Baas J). In 2021, they were included in the world's top 2% of scientists list created by Stanford University. She is serving part time as the founding editor of ITU Journal of Food Science and Technology, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (IF=5.90), International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IF=6.21), ACS Omega Journal, Food Chemistry Advances, Food Frontiers, Journal of Berry Research, Medical Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism, Food in Nutrition and other international SCI journals, as well as Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Journal of Food Science, etc. She is also serving as peer reviewer for 35 international SCI journals; and project evaluators from the UK, Poland, Chile, the Czech Republic, Türkiye and other countries. She presided over 3 international projects, including Türkiye Iran joint project, Türkiye Germany joint project, PRIMA project, 5 national projects in Türkiye, and 7 projects in Istanbul University of Science and Technology. She also received the George Foster Award from the Humboldt Foundation in Germany in July 2022.
