Introduction: Maria Daglia is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Pharmacy, University of Naples Federico II, Italy. She graduated from the University of Pavia in Italy in 1989 with a doctoral degree and since 1989, she has worked as a researcher, postdoctoral fellow, assistant professor, and full-time professor at the University of Pavia in Italy and the University of Naples Frederick II in Italy. Professor Maria has long been engaged in research on the physiological activity of natural products in food, health products, and pharmaceuticals. In the past five years, she has led multiple national level projects in the European Union and Italy, published over 200 academic papers, received over 4400 citations, has an h-index of 38, served as a guest editor for journals such as Biotechnology Advances (IF 12.831), Seminars in Cancer Biology (IF 10.198), and Nutrients (IF 4.196), and served as a special reviewer for nearly 40 international journals. she also served as a consultant for multiple international academic organizations and has won the Women's Scientist Award from the University of Pavia in Italy and the Tanner Award from the American Society of Food Technologists.
