Introduction: Professor Arun S. Mujumdar is a world-renowned drying scholar, mainly engaged in research on thermal drying and dehydration processing, thermal fluid engineering and science, and food processing. He is a Fellow of several national engineering institutes/research institutes, including IES of the Singapore Academy of Engineering and IIChE of the Indian Academy of Chemical Engineering. He is also a Fellow of ASME of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering and has published over 850 SCI papers, authored more than 120 book chapters, and has been cited over 17000 times. He serves as the Editor in Chief of the Drying Technology journal. In 2007, ADC established the first international drying outstanding contribution award named after him, the Mujumdar Medal, in the international series of conferences. He has won international awards such as the "World's Top Contribution Award" for international drying research, the "Lifetime Achievement Award for Drying", and the "Outstanding Global Leadership Award in the Drying Field". In 2012, he was awarded the Jiangsu Province International Science and Technology Cooperation Award, and in 2013, he was awarded the People's Republic of China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
