On May 11, Heinz Wilhelm Siesler from University of Duisburg-Essen Visited Jiangsu University. prof. Siesler made a lecture entitled New Instrumental Developments in Vibrational Spectroscopy and their Implications for Quality Control. He was appointed to the visiting professor at Jiangsu University In 2014.
Heinz Wilhelm Siesler is a tenured professor of Department of Physical Chemistry, University of Duisburg-Essen. Prof. Siesler holds a PhD in Chemistry, University of Vienna, Austria. He has more than 40 years of experience in Feasibility studies with handheld Raman, mid-/near-infrared spectrometers. During this period, He was won prizes, including Eastern Analytical Symposium Award in Near-Infrared Spectroscopy, Somerset, NJ, USA; Tomas Hirschfeld Award in recognition of outstanding contributions in the field of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy, PITTCON 2000, New Orleans, USA ; Büchi Award in Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (shared with Prof. Dr. S. Tsuchikawa, University of Nagoya, Japan) for outstanding contributions in the field of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy, Essen, Germany.
Prof. Siesler has finished more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals (including three monographs) and more than 250 lectures worldwide (including many plenary, key-note and invited lectures). Prof. Siesler has raised more than 5 million Euros research/project funds from industrial and public sources.
Prof. Siesler is a member of numerous international conference committees and has organized several international congresses in the field of vibrational spectroscopy. In 2012 he has been appointed a Fellow of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (USA) and a Member of the NIR Working Group of the European Pharmacopoeia Commission (Strasbourg, France).
