International Workshop on Intelligent Detection of Food Nutrition and Safety was held on August 12, 2019. More than 60 scholars from China, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Japan, and Macao-China attended the conference. Prof. Yan Xiaohong, president of Jiangsu University, met with the foreign experts at the conference center and introduced the history, career development and social influence of Jiangsu University. Prof. Yan Xiaohong granted Prof. Maurizio Battino from University of Vigo, Spain, Prof. Maria Daglia from University of Naples Federico II, Italy, Prof. Xiao Jianbo of the University of Macau, Prof. Hesham R. El-Seedi from Uppsala University, Sweden and Prof. Yoshinori Marunaka from Ritsumeikan University, Japan, letters of appointment, pinned a Jiangsu University emblem for them. After the ceremony, Prof. Maurizio Battino, Prof. Maria Daglia, Prof. Hesham R. El-Seedi and Prof. Yoshinori Marunaka delivered four lectures entiled Bioactive compounds-rich super-foods from Mediterranean Diet, The role of functional foods and food supplements in human health: the academic approach, Natural Products Research: Challenges & Opportunities and Applications, Actions of polyphenols on physiological events playing essential roles in keeping good health conditions respectively. After the lectures, the foreign experts were conducted though the museum our university and the research centers accompanied by Prof. Zou Xioabo and Prof. Ma Haile of the School of Food and Biological Engineering.
