On the afternoon of October 26, the School of Food Science and Engineering held trial lectures for 2026 graduate courses taught in Chinese and English in Room 302 of the Food Building. The event aimed to further tighten the entry threshold for classroom teaching, consolidate teachers’ basic teaching skills, and improve classroom teaching quality. Teaching Supervisor Professor Huang Xingyi and Vice Deans Huang Xiaowei, Yang Qiya, Zhu Lin, and He Ronghai served as review experts.

Five teachers—Chen Xiaochen, Zhou Man, Sulafa Babiker Hassan Hashim, Ghulam Nabi, and Esa Abiso Godana—from China and abroad delivered trial lectures. All teachers made thorough preparations and presented teaching demonstrations focused on their specialized courses. The expert panel gave comprehensive scores based on teaching content, teaching methods, interaction techniques, language expression, and other dimensions. They also provided detailed comments on each trial lecture, affirming the strengths of the teachers’ instructional design while offering specific, actionable suggestions for improvement in the teaching process. These comments helped the teachers identify directions for improvement and optimize their teaching plans.

The trial lecture session is an important measure by the School to strengthen faculty teaching capacity. It showcased teachers’ classroom teaching styles and provided a platform for teaching exchange and mutual learning. The School remains committed to promoting teaching through evaluation, continuously consolidating the foundation of teaching quality, supporting steady improvement in teachers’ teaching abilities, and providing strong guarantees for the quality of talent cultivation.
