The delegation led by Dean Wu Peng from the OEC visited School of Food Science and Engineering to conduct a symposium on the Summer School Program

On June 1, 2026, a delegation led by Dean Wu Peng from the College of International Education visited the College of Food Science and Engineering to conduct a symposium on the 2026 Summer School Program. The meeting was held in Room 302 of the Food Science Building, attended by Dean Zhang Hongyin of the College of Food Science and Engineering, Director Chen Yushan of the College of International Education, and He Yufeng, Foreign Affairs Secretary of the College of Food Science and Engineering.

Dean Wu Peng first provided an overview of the original intent, policy context, and past achievements of the Summer School Program. This years program, designed for international pre-degree students in China, innovatively establishes a tripartite frameworkLife-Oriented Language Acquisition + Standardized Resource Repository + Cultural Internalizationaimed at building a bridge for overseas students to engage in language learning, cultural immersion, and real-world social experiences. Director Chen Yushan further elaborated on the programs needs in curriculum design, corporate internships, and expert lectures, expressing a strong desire to leverage the existing resources of the food science discipline to enhance the overall quality of the program.

At the conclusion of the symposium, Dean Zhang Hongyin affirmed the College of Food Science and Engineering’s full commitment to the successful implementation of the Summer School and proposed three concrete action plans: First‌, introduce new courses of high student interest, such as food nutrition and health; Second‌, optimize teaching methodologies by increasing the pedagogical elements of popular science, fun, and interactivity; Third‌, strengthen promotional efforts to expand the program’s enrollment scale.

Through this symposium, the two colleges further deepened mutual understanding, streamlined communication channels, and strengthened collaborative coordination, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of international student education at our university.
