To further advance the reform of international student classroom teaching and enhance the teaching skills and quality of English-taught faculty, the School of Food and Biological Engineering actively responded to the call of the Overseas Education College and successfully held this semester’s open demonstration class on the morning of March 25 in Room 1321 of the Jingjiang Building.
The course featured in this open class was Food Processing Technology, delivered by Associate Professor Wang Bo from the Department of Food Science and Engineering, with a focus on rice processing techniques. Five assistant teachers in their training period attended the session for observation and professional development.

During the lecture, Professor Wang conducted the class in fluent and standard English, seamlessly integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications. By presenting rice and its processed products, he provided students with an intuitive understanding of the course content. He systematically explained the quality characteristics of rice, selection methods, and processing procedures. Additionally, he adopted an interactive teaching approach, engaging students through questions and discussions, which fostered an active classroom atmosphere and yielded significant learning outcomes. After the class, the observing young teachers actively sought Professor Wang’s guidance on teaching methodologies and classroom strategies. They expressed that the session was highly beneficial, offering valuable insights to enhance their future teaching practices.

This open demonstration class not only showcased the institute’s high-level English teaching capabilities but also provided a valuable platform for young teachers to learn and exchange ideas, further contributing to the improvement of international student classroom instruction.
