The International Archive’s Day is commemorated worldwide on a yearly basis to showcase the relevance of archives to everyone (humanity). This year’s celebration as usual was held on the 9/06/2018 to afford participants most especially students the opportunity to study and learn more about historical issues. It also afforded the opportunity to reorient the foggy public perception of archives.

The event which took place in the Mishan People’s Community  in Zhenjiang, started at 9:45 am and ended at 11:45 am on schedule comprising three sections. The first was a briefing on some poster of historical artefacts on display proceeded by the second; an interactive section involving questions and answers which saw participants rewarded with prizes for their knowledge. Prizes included beverage items, kitchenware, toiletries as well as cosmetic items. All seven (7) students from Jiangsu University won one item or the other with three students winning more than two items each.

The third section was as well interesting and rewarding. Participants were made to fish out Zongzi (Chinese rice dumpling) using a hook stick under one minute (1 min) and were meant for the participants’ consumption. The program ended with some group photography. It was an interesting as well as educative program.
