On the afternoon of September 23, FBE held a cultural experience activity of making mooncakes in order to celebrate the traditional Chinese festival–the Mid-Autumn Festival, and enhance the communication between Chinese and foreign students. Overseas new students from Sri Lanka, Ghana, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Morocco, Bangladesh, and Nigeria and Chinese undergraduates participated in this activity together. The making mooncake session is guided by the teacher Xingrong Liu.

She introduced the origin and customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and explained the types of mooncakes and the precautions for making mooncakes to the students, encouraging the students to learn relevant food knowledge while enjoying the fun of baking. During the production process, domestic students and international students helped each other, and jointly completed the production of three kinds of mooncakes: Soviet-style, Cantonese-style and ice skin mooncakes. Chinese and foreign students further deepened their knowledge and understanding of the Mid-Autumn Festival by this activity, and the small mooncakes vividly interpreted the collision and integration of different culture.

While enriching students' campus life, this activity also shortened the distance between cross-cultural students, and deepened the friendship between different countries. On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chinese and foreign students from School of Food and Biological Engineering spent a warm and happy Chinese festival together.
