Qi Xianghui, Professor and Doctoral supervisor of School of Food and Biological Engineering, Jiangsu University, Head of Microbial Biosynthesis & Intelligent Manufacturing Team, High-level talent of "Six Talent Peaks" in Jiangsu Province, and Distinguished Professor of "Minjiang Scholar" in Fujian Province.

Prof. Qi’s Research Field is microbial synthesis and manufacturing of high value-added chemicals, mainly focusing on Functional microorganisms’ screening and identification, Engineering strain’s development, New enzyme’s mining and directed evolution and rational design, Chassis cell’s design and transformation, Microbiomics, Biotransformation and synthesis, Fermentation engineering and process optimization, Metabolic pathway engineering and Molecular mechanism, Nano enzyme and Nano bioengineering, Probiotics, prebiotics and function. He presided over a few of National Key R & D Programs, NSFCs, and NSFC international cooperation and other National Projects;

Recent years, He mainly focuses on D-arabinol, xylitol, D-tagatose, D-alose, D-aloulose, 3-hydroxypropionic acid, 1,3-propanediol, bioethanol and other high value-added food, pharmaceutical, chemicals and platform compounds, and carries out Screening and identification of functional microorganisms, Development of engineering bacteria, Mining of new enzymes, Directional evolution and rational design of enzymes, Design and transformation of chassis cells, Microbiomics, Biotransformation and synthesis, Fermentation engineering and process optimization, Metabolic pathway engineering and molecular mechanism, Nanoenzyme and nanobiology, probiotics and prebiotics, etc; And also, he carries out the Application development, function and industrialization of High value-added food and food additives, medicine, chemicals and other related products. In addition, he also does some researches on the prevention and control of food borne microorganisms.
