Biosynthesis of high-value-added food additives and medicines using five/six-carbon sugars, glycerol, or biomass as substrate, such as functional sugars/alcohols, Recently, mainly working on D-arabitol, xylitol, D-tagatose, D-allose, 1,3-propanediol, 3-hydroxypropionic acid, 2,3-butanediol and other high value-added foods and medicines: Screening, identification and development of functional/engineering microorganisms, Discovery of new enzymes, Directed evolution and rational design of key enzymes, Metabolic pathways engineering, Microbial omics and metabolic regulation, Biotransformation synthesis, Fermentation engineering, Molecular mechanism of biosynthesis, etc.; Application and development of high value-added food additives, functional food, medicines and other related products; Rapid detection and evaluation of food-borne microorganism.
