The school consists of Department of Food Science & Engineering, Department of Food Quality & safety, Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Biological Engineering, Laboratory Center of Food & Bioengineering, National R&D Center of Agricultural Product Processing Equipments,Jiangsu Research Center of Bio-processing and Separation of Agricultural Products,and Jiangsu Provincial Key Lab of Physics Processing of Agricultural Products.
The bachelor’s degree program in Agricultural Product Processing & Engineering was established in 1983. The Master’s degree program in Agricultural Product Processing & Engineering was authorized in 1986, followed by the PhD program in 1993. After nearly 30 years’ hard work, a series of distinguished multidiscipline researches have been fully developed, including Non-destructive Analysis of Agricultural Products, Agricultural Product Biological Processing and Separation Technology, Bio-energy Transformation Technology, Integrated Utilization of Agricultural Products, and etc. International collaboration is our fundamental strategy to enhance our research and education. International collaboration and communication have been established with many international universities and institutes.
